This year there will be 2 VILLA RIDES! as I have just finished recording with Nic Raine the complete 58 minute score by Maurice using the original score and parts.....the sound and peformance are spectacular with much more detail than the original. (the original LP being less than 30 minutes long)

Also included on ths CD are new recordings of music from EL CONDOR, THE LIFE AND TIMES OF JUDGE ROY BEAN, RED SUN and THE PROFESSIONALS

And at same time TARAS BULBA and an album by incredible Czech Violinist Lucie Svehlova will be released.

Probable June release for all 3

This is fantastic news James, really cant wait for this to be released. Will make a nice companion set to your release of 'Lawrence' and the goodies on its second disc.

It foxes me how James manages to keep this up.

It'll be hard to top the 'Lawrence' album, which is a perfect rendering, and one of the best re-recordings ever.

Agreed, but he'll probably do it.

Excellent. And with Tribute's Adventures of Don Juan coming too, it seems we are on the verge of a prime period for re-recorded scores.

Wonderful news! I'll definitely get these. VILLA RIDES and EL CONDOR
are my two personal favorite western Jarre scores. Just curious, but did
you use a real whistler for VILLA RIDES? I ask because when Jarre
re-recorded the theme for the Jarre Conducts Jarre album, he replaced
the whistler with a trumpet.

Yes, my mixing engineer Gareth Williams did the whistling

James, can you share what Ms. Svehlova has recorded on her disc?

Thanks,

I remember searching for the LP at used record stores in Chicago after hearing the Villa Rides! theme on the Jarre by Jarre CD my brother had. I eventually found the LP at Second Hand Tunes (for $35 - pricey for me at the time, but worth it).

I can't wait to hear the new recording (as well as the extra stuff). Fantastic news!
