There's going to be some very happy soundtrack fans in the near future. The mastering firm that did the Abyss has indicated that a new release of Predator 2 is in the pipeline. Perhaps in the next Varese Club?
Also exciting that a new release of Enter the Dragon may be coming
The original news was broken over at jwfan.net per this link:
Very cool. Anyone know what is missing from the album though? Any stand out tracks?
I believe some of the previous released tracks were longer in the film. I remember posting my previous message b/f but not the unreleased music, sorry.
The only ones I can think of are:
The Jamaican massacre. Subway massacre. Keyes gets killed in the slaughter house/fight on the rooftop/Pred get's his arm chopped off. The Elder Pred gives Harrignton his antique gun.
Any ideas on when the next Varese Club batch might be? I'm waiting to pair one or two of their on sale items with hopefully something from the next batch.
In a Hollywood Reporter Roundtable interview, Henry Jackman and Hans Zimmer both single out Predator 2 to Alan Silvestri himself as a pinnacle of action music scoring. Yeah, definitely time to expand and rerelease it.
