I met Steve at the FSM Get Together (Vol. 2, No. 1) and got a copy of his album, which frankly blew my mind ( I played it three times in the car while I was tooling around the Hollywood Hills). So many people aspire to a retro sound and fall short, or sound mummified, but he's spot on. Steve is to space age pop what the Beau Hunks are to 30's jazz---an artist who reinvents and keeps a lost art living and breathing!

Just one thing---where's the bikini-clad cohort that should be clinging to that scooter?

I had never heard of him or Space Age Pop. I mean I had heard some of that type of music before, but never knew thats what it was called. It never kept my attention nor did I like it. Whats so fascinating with Steve's music is, he did get my attention. To be honest I love it. I bougth SO many soundtracks over the Film Music Celebration back in May, but the one I play the most was that EP, he so kindly gave me. The Long Horizon track is INCREDIBLE it's my favorite by far. We've exchanged a few emails and I bought his CD from him. He's an excellent composer and I can't wait for the many years ahead with this guy.

Also, Steve is the NICEST person on earth. Okay Steve, we are all saying such nice things, don't let this go to your head!! Just kidding!

The music has a beat a good temp, plus there is all sorts of instruments, but what gets me is, theres a theme in it. There is a theme that you remember after your done listening. To often today, there are no themes to remember.

I can't talk more highly of his music or of Steve. Get his music, you'll be very happy you did. Take it from a guy who does NOT like this type of music, Steve was the only person that got me to like it and now I love it, so he's gotta have some talent if he's able to complete that task!!

Steve Greeves is a great guy, his music is incredible and has inspired me greatly. He captures the sounds so perfectly and has that substance that is hard to achieve, he has given me kind words on my music and I cant wait till he wins some serious awards for his art. I wish him all the success in the world.

It was really cool to meet Steve at the FSM gathering and hang out for a short while at the bar afterwards. He's a really cool, nice, personable guy. He even hooked us up with a copy of his EP, and to be honest, I wasn't really expecting to like it much, since I'm pretty set in my ways when it comes to non-film music, basically just sticking to bands that I grew up with. Well, hot diggity darn-it-all-to-heck, Steve's grooves had my ass dancing all over the house. Color me impressed! Now I'm looking forward to his next CD, which Mark told me has some really killer covers of film music themes.
