Bob, you left out "A Boy Named Charlie Brown". Besides, wasn't "Caddyshack" put out on C.D. not long ago?

I always get the film soundtrack of "A Boy Named Charlie Brown" confused with the TV soundtrack of the same name, which WAS released on CD.

As for "Caddyshack," my post was from December 2009, before La-La Land released "Caddyshack" in January 2010. And since that post, La-La Land has also released "A Certain Smile," FSM released "A Man Called Horse," and Intrada released "Sleuth."

It helps to look at the post date.

I thought that since the 55 DAYS... stuff was found, they also found other things, including SCROOGE in the vaults. God, I would so like to see this come to light again on CD! I thank god that I still have the reel-to-reel version, that to me, sounds very good. (Manderly, I haven't noticed the trouble with the voices you mentioned on my r2r copy... will have to give it another listen - sure its not a tracking issue, or heads needing cleaning?)

As far as I know, there was never an intermission to this film was there? The current DVD is good... just don't like the "light show" during the overutre. So, that being said, has anyone seen the Blu-ray?????? Please, fill us in!

smile

P.S. Does anyone else find it curious that studio types, who so often don't give a crap about this "old stuff" suddenly have such an issue with "rights" when someone does show interest in it?

wink

A mistake was made there. The blu ray left off theOverture that was on the dvd.

Thanks for that heads-up Joe... Will this be corrected??? I HATE when this bullshit happens. It is so disapointing and downright bothersome how people who should know and care, well, don't know and don't care.

This same thing happened on the CAN CAN dvd... the overture is cut off midstream! Was this ever corrected??? I'm really pissed about that one, and i've not been able to get an answer about whether its been taken care of.

BAck to SCROOGE... don't know why (I Saw this in Milwaukee in not the best circumstances) but I just love this score and the movie itself. I cried like a baby at the end! Would be so nice to have the soundtrack done up right. smile

I really love this film and it's wonderful songs by Leslie Bricusse. The perfect Christmas movie, and album.

Just two of it's great songs:

The lopping off of the Overture is one reason I will NOT buy the Blu ray (one of the highlights of the album).

Hands down my favorite musical...I just love it. Overture or not, I'm getting the Blu Ray next week. Oh how I wish this could be on CD...

So, I'm guessing none of the rights issues have been resolved or master tapes found.
