What a sweeping, elegant, sophisticated and brillant action score by Robert Folk. I loved it the minute I heard the opening titles, when I saw the film for the first time. I have been hunting the original cd for almost ten years now, and I saddled upon a copy.

My favorite cues are Removing the Chips and the brillant The End of Cali.

I havenĀ“t sadly heard anything else by Mr. Folk, so, what else would you recommend by him?

I finally got a copy of this last year from Moviemusic.com. It was missing the front insert so I got it for under $10. Great score. If you can find it you'll want to get Beastmaster II: Through the Portal of Time as well.

NP: Twelve Kingdoms (Kunihiko Ryo)

Yeah, this is a great score, as is Beastmaster II. I LOVE the second track on Beastmaster II that builds up for like 10 minutes until it finally breaks out into the great theme. Rousing stuff!

There was a 2 cd promotional set produced by Intrada that has many of Folk's best compositions, including Police Academy, Tremors, Arabian Knight.

It's pretty hard to find his Neverending Story II, which is also a fantastic orchestral score. Worth tracking down though.

NP: Padre Pio (Morricone- this cd keeps amazing me every time I play it. Another one to look out for!)

Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace is another big epic orchestral score. Varese and BSX still have it.

There's also a 2-CD set: Robert Folk: Selected Suites" of music from various Folk scores which includes a lot of unreleased material, including 9:13 from Police Academy. This promotional set orginally came out via Intrada, but I think is now hard to get hold of; I think I got mine off eBay. Eight orchestras are credited for the ten scores, so I guess they're the original soundtracks.

NP: THE GREAT RAID (Trevor Rabin)

The 2 CD set was as many have said the best one to get though now it's hard as heck and expensive. I LOVE his Police Academy theme, it's so grand in it's melody. On that 2 CD set, I love his Can't Buy Me Love score, that is probably my all time favorite that wonderful 9minute suite is all I have.

Indeed. There's just one on eBay, Buy-It-Now at $108 (it's on eBay UK but the item is in Japan!).

That's probably four or five times what I paid! Still, if you're happy with that...

I'm very happy for you Richard Street. This is a great 2 CD set and since money is not an issue, I find the $108.00 US dollars not bad at all. Sure I wish I could have foudn it for cheaper, but $108 I'm very HAPPY by it!!

Has anybody ever made a chronological sequencing of this CD ??

Some cues from different places in the movie have unfortunately been glued together.

Got to love the Toy Soldiers score. Took me waaaay too long to finally get this.

Does anyone happen to have the chronological order of the tracks as heard in the film?

Thanks in advance!

Awesome Cryogenix! Thanks so much, even if it isn't precise it's a lot closer than I could get. By the way, Netflix's "Watch now" feature has Toy Soldiers in its original aspect ratio... ironically, if you rent the dvd from them it is the FULL SCREEN release, but the watch now online has correct 1:85 widescreen... I saw this on Netflix recently and this was my first time seeing the film in its original presentation... looked great!

Robert Folk is one of the many great talents that are often ignored. I fell in love with his Toy Soldiers score thanks to Intrada and adore Beastmaster 2. A crap movie with such an inventive score you wonder what he was thinking. A fab talent. I will never forget standing behind him at CTS as he conducted "The Alarm" from Lawnmower Man 2 and thinking this is fucking heaven. Robert Folk is a gent and hero of film music. Lets not forget these guys like Hollywood does!
