I remember this being a miniseries around the time Poledouris did Lonesome Dove. It was depressing with a story much like Red Dawn where Russians invade and take over part of the US. Am I wrong? Great clip there though of the score.

I have had the opportunity to hear the final master of this opus and it's a GEM! Perhaps Basil's Masterpiece! This, in my opinion, is the release of the year! My only complaint is the cover art, which, in my opinion (as well as about a dozen others I know who have seen it) is quite possibly the worst cover in the history of soundtracks. Is this the soundtrack to Raid commercials? WTF is it? It has nothing to do with the mini series! However, to paraphrase the old saying, "Don't judge a cd by its cover." If you can only afford one cd for the next few months I would pick up AMERIKA (and yes, that includes even La La Land product). This score is his Magnum Opus and it sounds AMAZING! Do NOT let this one pass you by. MV

Maybe this gives extra hope for a La La Land reissue with the complete opus on three or four discs? It'd give you a chance to fix that cover you hate with a Jim Titus-designed one, MV...hint, hint! It's been over 12 years so I think this one deserves a revisit considering how much prime orchestral Poledouris remains unreleased. Yavar
