But how much unreleased score-music is there?

The chase music alone should have been included, even on this new version. Faltermeyer did one iconic score after another for a while there, year after year in the 80s. Then POOF. Then Kuffs. Then POOF again.

The original Fletch OST has been available for many years at a very reasonable, digital listening quality. This is a bit too late for Faltermeyer fans to care much about. Unless you're a completest and need that CD spine in your collection there isn't much point. Not sure what the hangup is with an expanded Fletch, plenty of unreleased music from the film as well as remixes. It's also curious that we're getting Fletch Lives first. An official Fletch CD has not been available. Personally, I'm looking forward to it.

It's also a huge mystery to me (as well as for SCARFACE, TOP GUN and other classic synth scores that still remain unreleased in 'score only' format). It's not like there's a huge amount of orchestral reuse fees to be paid. And why would the film companies be so difficult? Good question. Maybe La La Land can chime in?

Is Intrada's Sept 4 release all the score tracks from Fletch?

These were massively complex soundtrack album deals with big deal talent at the time. You forget, these kind of albums sold in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions. Big money. Big business. A different time before the internet. Some of these contracts are very complex and often times not worth the hassle for studio or music executives to revisit and unravel. We made BHC 1 and 2 happen. Fletch was supposed to. Top Gun is waiting in the wings...and Mr. MORODER likes us...so, you never know. It's just those pesky song soundtrack contracts that make things difficult sometimes. MV
