My number one pick would be the recording session for the DUCKTALES pilot ("Treasure of the Golden Suns") by Ron Jones.
Second choice would be the first recording session for DRAGONBALL by Shunsuke Kikuchi. Either that or the eighth session, which covered the third movie, "Mystical Adventure".
I was lucky to see John Williams conducting and recording the "X marks the spot" scene in INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE at the old MGM Scoring Stage with Spielberg in the same observation room filming John Williams with his at the time, mini dv-camcorder. I was the payroll cashier at Lorimar Studios which was the old MGM lot and Scoring Mixer Danny Wallin who I made sure got his checks, invited over.
The 2nd, I saw on that same MGM scoring stage was James Horner conducting the "Regiment Leaving Boston" Parade Sequence from GLORY. I watched that one endless times from the Scoring Stage doorway window. Met a lot of the HARLEM BOYS CHOIR kids her were on the lot for two days recording all the vocal tracks for GLORY.
And finally I was "invited in for a listen" as he put it, personally by James Horner on the TODD-AO Scoring Stage and CBS Radford Studios in Studio City for a sequence of him conducting and recording THE SPITFIRE GRILL. Maestro Horner was so very kind and such a gentleman to me. I was working as an extra on an episode of SEINFELD that day on the studio lot and was lucky to see that Horner was there recording. As I walked up to the Scoring Stage he was coming out for a break and we spoke for a few minutes where I got to tell him how much I loved his music. He was flattered and graciously invited me in. Wish I had my camera that day to get a photo with him, but it wasn't meant to be.
The Ten Commandments. Those session happened just before and after I was born. But it must have been awesome to be in that Padamount studio hearing that grand score come to life.
