Just got the new blu ray of Sayonara. It has been on regular dvd only in letterbox. this is the first time in 16 X 9 and the parent company seems to have done some restoration work. It looks lovely. Most of the film was shot on location in Japan. However, the scens at the officers club were shot in L.A. at Yamashiros restaurant. the camera Never points down the hill,, so you can not see Los Angeles.
Never heard of this film. Major, beautifully film with a great performance by marlon Brando. Great Waxman score. Don't know this is a music and effects track as the raw mono music sessions very much exist.

The TT website says its music/effects; maybe they used both. Based on the conventional soundtrack samples on itunes, I would buy a CD but the releases are all oop and pricey. I'll check out the movie for now.

There are lots of effects on the SAYONARA isolated track. The LP is a much better listening experience.
