Oh, and I always skip the Steve Lawrence song in The Last Run! Everyone else should, too. Didn't the lyrics to MASH and First Blood teach tou anything?!?
Jim. The lyrics to First Blood teach us, "it's a long road, and it's hard as hell."

Now u know why i traded it
I have digitized Steve Lawrence (from LP to mp3). I own lots of Steve Lawrence.

Dan Hill, sir, is no Steve Lawrence.
I'll reserve judgment until I've heard Steve's rendition of "It's a Long Road." Sadly, this is not possible now.
Do you always skip over the Steve Lawrence bit on The Last Run album to quickly get to the Jerry stuff?
I never skip over that song. I love it, too.

Hi Greg!
Gee whiz is this the first time in the 14 years you've been here we've actually had an exchange? And it's all because of Steve Lawrence of all people! Go figure.
It would have been even more incredible had the two of you interacted via Joe Pepitone.
...Have I ever mentioned the time we left the Stadium and Joe P was in the car ahead of us? He was on the DL, I think, and took off right after the game. At every red light a kid or two would hop out and go to the car and he was happy to shake hands and give an autograph. Nice guy, gave everyone a big smile.
Might be interesting to compare meeting Goldsmith and other biggies to sports stars. Hmm...
I’ve been gone and needed to add my perspective to this topic. We film score aficionados must not let Jim “withdraw” (or go through withdrawal) from Goldsmith. This is an aurally HEALTHY addiction like being addicted to wholesome foods.
Just listen to the theme below, which I consider one of the most beautiful themes ever composed. (Theme begins at 2:29)

No reason to get out of that rabbit hole. Just like Rozsa, Herrmann, Williams, and Alfred Newman there's so much of maestro Jerry's music to have fun investigating.
I am continuing my own Goldsmith journey, and was really impressed by the time span (and of course the quality of the scoring) from Red Pony to the surprisingly fresh-as-hell sounding Total Recall. And he still put good stuff after that.
So, no. You're great where you are. You won't exactly run out of great music in these parts, pardner!

I can't take it no more! Jerry G has taken over me! His scores are everywhere in my collection!
I can't escape the breadth and scope of his musical genius!
What's worse, I've even watched the films in which His scores are heard! Now how crazy is that?!? We film score nerds NEVER do that!
Please help!
Why would you want to? I have been hooked by the music of John Williams since 1977 and it is a wonderful addiction. Jerry is a good choice on which to be hooked. I love his music as well. Hell I love a lot of film music even some of Hans Zimmer (one of my favs is Angels and Demons). Anyway listen wisely

I like Angels and Demons too! I also like Gladiator and Interstellar by Hans.
I usually feel like defending my like for Zimmer's music...sure, he ain't Morricone, Rozsa, Williams, Alfred Newman, or Goldsmith. But he wrote some really good music imo.
