In light of this great Onion article "Entirety Of Hollywood Film Industry Replaced With 40,000 Christopher Plummers"

Since I doubt The Sound of Music will count, I'm going with Tiomkin's Fall of the Roman Empire.

He, he....love the fact that good ol' Chris has become an internet meme lately.

Some fine scores for Plummer films include THE FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE, INSIDE DAISY CLOVER, BATTLE OF BRITAIN, THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING, SOMEWHERE IN TIME, STAR TREK VI, DOLORES CLAIBORNE, 12 MONKEYS (RIP Buckmaster), THE INSIDER, A BEAUTIFUL MIND, BLIZZARD, ALEXANDER, THE NEW WORLD, PRIEST.

I can't quite work out why, because on paper you'd think it shouldn't work, but I'm fond of Plummer as Gilliam's alternate to Dr Who, Parnassus. Incredible feat, at his age, to find himself in high demand. I mean, how do you mitigate the stress that goes with it? Sir Ridley is no spring chicken either. They should both take things easy.

Good list, Thor - the only one missing is Syriana/Desplat. Question is, I wonder how Mr Plummer would rate them?

I'm counting 'The Sound of Music' whether anyone dislikes it or not. 50 years of guilty pleasure perhaps, but a pleasure none the less.

Also a big fan of Ilan Eshkeri's 'The Exception'.

I love all the John Barry scores already mentioned. My favorite Plummer role was his villain in the excellent Canadian thriller The Silent Partner with Elliot Gould and Susannah York. Pretty good score by Oscar Peterson.
