After reading such praise for that musty old extravaganza what be THE EGYPTIAN, I have just ordered it. I already have the FSM release, but I felt the urge to go for THE EGYPTIAN in full-frontal form, double-CD and La La into the bargain. This had better be good, and not that old boring "two-note" Herrmann droning and Alf Newman heavenly choirs "welcome to the kingdom of God, made in Hollywood" schtick.
To make the order a bit more bulky, I also ordered THE STRIPPER (FSM release of that hack Goldsmith's score). I already have the beermat version, but I want to really use it as a beermat and get the real official thing. I always liked what I could hear of the beermat vesrion - it sounded like litening to someone's TV through the wall. Good enough to get me intrigued. I hope there's not any of that terrible honky-tonk jazz on it, or "sexy" strip-joint music from 1921.
Then THE WORLD, THE FLESH AND THE DEVIL (FSM's release from hundreds of years ago of the Miklós Rózsa score). This is SF, so it had better have loads of electronics on it, and not the same old Miki "here we go again" symphonic sound that he used in absolutely every one of the hackneyed scores he ever wrote.
Your responibility is huge, readers. You made me buy these with your fine-sounding words and hyperbole Superbowl exaggerations. If I hate them there'll be hell to pay, and you'll all be to blame.
