In the 1980s, I was obsessed with garage rock, and had many of the Nuggets/Pebbles comps, as well as offshoots such as "Highs in the Mid-60s," "Chocolate Soup for Diabetics," etc. I was getting into film music at around the same time. I remember thinking how moody and evocative many of those garage tracks were, and how it would be amazing if someone scored a film with them, kind of like with the 50s tunes in "American Graffiti." Does anyone know if this was ever done? I men, I'm sure that "96 Tears" and "Louie Louie" must have been in a million films, but I'm really talking about the deeper cuts.
