I blasted this score (and his MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS) over the weekend and really enjoyed it (them). I especially love the hymn-like theme (with echoes of Thomas Newman in it's progressions) heard in 'Goodnight Boy' and subsequent tracks. Just so lovely and tender. The trumpet theme is nice too and only Patrick Doyle could work in a male chorus requiem, adapting Shakespearean text into Latin, in a kids animated adventure!! Highly underrated, this score is, hmmmm!
It's also full of your typical 'Doyle-isms' too, which is nice to hear these days. Although I still maintain his much-maligned scores to THOR and POTA still retained his trademark voice.
Thanks for the reminder...I've had this on my wish-list for ages...gave it a proper listen today on Spotify...and moved it further up the list...it's really quite enjoyable!
