(This isn't explicitly film music-related, even though it is music-related, so I'm posting this in Non-Film Score Discussion. I am not personally involved in this project but thought it would be of interest to classical and/or film music fans.)
There is currently an active Kickstarter to fund a recording of some of composer John Mackey's wind ensemble music, to be performed by the Dallas Winds, a professional American wind band conducted by Jerry Junkin, who is also Director of Bands at the University of Texas. John Mackey is a contemporary composer most popularly known for his wind ensemble compositions but who has also written for orchestra, chamber groups, and dance. The selection of pieces to be recorded includes a new trumpet concerto to be played by Christopher Martin, principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic. The album will be recorded and released by Reference Recordings, a Grammy-winning audiophile label. There are only a few days left and still a large amount to go before the project is funded, so consider backing if you like some of the composer's pieces that are to be recorded, of which I have embedded videos below!
