I was fairly young upon seeing it and was moved and disturbed. Looking now at the talent behind its creation makes its relative sleeper-hit status perfectly understandable. Impossible not to be haunted by the title song if you heard it at an even younger age when it came out. Oh, my. I saw the premiere on TCM last week--great to see the movie in HD. It had been a while since I'd seen the movie.
