Surrounded by scores and parts etc.. in preparation for first 5 BEN-HUR sessions in Prague in just a few days time .... getting quite excited. First lot of sessions should take us virtually up to the Intermission ... with rest of sessions to follow later in the year...once I get more dosh together !

Been listening over and over to the soundtrack...even bought the BluRay set though I have the DVD ... I think there will be a few surprises even to those who thought they knew the original so well.

And to those who would rather I spent my money on relatively unknown scores to relatively unknown films...sorry but I just cannot afford any more to just please the 1000 or so hardened soundtrack fans ...judging by CD sales recently ..I need to record music that will appeal to a much wider spectrum and more importantly be able to licence tracks for trailers, commercials, corporate films etc.... because CD sales alone will never cover costs...well not in my lifetime anyway. So I might as well go out with a Big Bang !

This is wonderful! If BH is anywhere near the quality of the other Rozsa discs, this will be a crowning achievement.
Thank you so much.

Thank you James!

After having spent in the past months a lot of time enjoying your immense and superlative recording of the complete EL CID and listening in these days to the magnificent THE THIEF OF BAGDAD, I'm sure BEN HUR will be another landmark recording, thanks to Maestro Raine's authoritative leadership and The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra talented musicians!

A splendid new recording of BEN HUR is most certainly very welcome in these quarters here... I have all the Tadlow Rozsa recordings, and they are treasures. Obviously, I'm not gonna skip BEN HUR now. :-)

Just another word of support, I'm looking forward to this very much.
James, you've recorded so much great music I'll be eternally grateful for, we wouldn't have otherwise in many cases.
Now, if you were really recording The Replacement Killers, I'd have to think about supporting that - it doesn't get any better then Rozsa however!
Good luck & thank you,
Sean

But surely Paul Dunlap's score to The Destructors would be a HUGE seller!!! I'd buy a rerecording and I'm sure the movie's many 10s of thousands of fans would too. What are you waiting for???

Best wishes
Heath (from post-truth Earth 2... unfortunately.)

If the quality of your other recordings is any paradigm, your take on BEN-HUR will be sublime!

Many thanks in advance!

I'd love Tadlow recordings for potential good sellers like Doctor Zhivago, Gone With the Wind, Titanic or anything you want by John Barry.

Much as I'd like more obscure unreleased scores recorded I tip my hat to you guys for all the gems you've released and am eternally thankful for all the love, effort and hard work that you have all contributed to so many works I had thought at times I'd never own.

I hope Ben-Hur sells well, I'll certainly be buying it.
