Good news about Dinklage, it's about time Marvel had enough characters in their movies!!

After the horribly creepy fake/dead eyed Peter Cushing footage in ROGUE ONE, the thought of lots of Creepy Carrie Creepy Carrie (shriek/shriek) stuff in any new SW films is dreadful.

Yeah, I wish they'd just use CGI to kill her at the end of Episode 8. That would be the best compromise. I don't like the idea of 2 hours of CGI leia in Episode 9... Ugh.

I actually prefer something LeHah suggested in another thread.
Don't use CGI AT ALL, have her die off-screen and let the other cast members and John Williams do the rest.

This or recast. CGI is not the way to go.

Killing off screen sounds like a disappointing farewell to such a wonderful character...

Leia's offscreen death just needs to be done "right".
Or "well" as Nick Meyer so nicely put it.

Will Smith's career is pretty much over eh?

I highly doubt that.

in a large scale sense that it used to be, this last one he did was pretty awful.

The real CG test: throw one CG Leia scene in Episode VIII but don't reveal which scene and see if people notice.

Disney/Lucas Film should be a lot more respectful towards Carrie and her family and not even talk about this in public. Christ they just buried her, and her Mom.

As I've said before, I think CGI Leia is a terrible idea, especially when measured by the godawful Peter Cushing footage in ROGUE ONE. If they MUST do it, then at least shroud her in darkness and reflections, not straight on. But I still maintain that the best thing would have been to re-write the script to accomodate the situation.

Man alive, poor Smith. Some crappy films, forgotten films, a terrible Shyamalan film, killed off screen in a sequel he wasn't even invited back to, and now a live-action Dumbo remake. Wow. What did he do, kick Harvey Weinstein in the nuts or something (not that I'd be opposed to that)?

All this hubbub about Princess Leia I think answers the question to who's the mother from TFA. And that instead of giving her an important death off screen, or breifly using CGI to bring her back and kill her off, tells me she has a biger role in the upcoming films than they were leading us to believe. I think it's very, very unfortunate they're going to use a CGI Leia. Actors and actresses bring their own acting and nuances to their roles, even ab lib, an no amount of watching old footage is going to make up for that. They need to put her character to bed.

Speaking of things that need to be put to bed: "The X-Files".

His insatiable need to be a thought of as good and funny and loved, and his terrible taste in scripts to comply with these self concepts has ruined his stardom.

Oh yeah. He honestly read "Suicide Squad" and thought: wow, I gotta do that!

And his improvised lines in it are so obvious and so bad. This guy needs an injection of fame on something to break this terrible rut.

But Dumbo never speaks. I can't see Will Smith going for being a mute elephant.
