Hi everyone! Regarding these options, SAE's checkout page explains: "Registered Mail is trackable and Express Mail is trackable and faster delivery." Besides the speed, what difference is there? Does Express still go through the postal service, or is it shipped through a courier like Fedex or DHL? Since I'd like to order many things because of the awesome sale on MovieScore Media CDs, I'm wondering. With 20 or 30 CDs, it may be worth it to add such an option. It hurts a lot to pay so much for shipping (in other words, to pay more in order to get what you are already paying for: delivery of your package) (as much as for the CDs if I buy 25 and have the shipment registered), but the average price would still be very interesting (half the original price or even less) in the end. One big package sent through something like UPS would save me money (as opposed to splitting the order in two so it would be less of a risk at once), but it would be sure to be taxed (and there even is a tax on the s/h). I'm not sure whether it would be worth the extra. But then, it would be really safe. Shipping to France has become prohibitive and make a simple thing quite a hassle. I did not get the e-mail regarding the sale until yesterday, so I could not call SAE to ask. I have written them, but maybe someone (a fellow European score lover) can answer me faster here (before several of the CDs I want sell out).

After a *lot* of time calculating, computing, assessing, comparing, pondering, I have come to the conclusion it is safer to order by bundles of 10 CDs, and have them registered. The average price per CD will be of € 6.20 (which is great)-- in the absolute worst case, even with 25% tax on everything (CDs & shipping) it would remain an excellent deal. Though not small, the package should not attract too much attention from customs-- for fewer CDs but a greater value, Varèse's square boxes have not so far; and then, the total product value is ridiculous, well below the limit. Thanks again for your help!

Update after receiving my three orders. IMPORTANT NOTE The Registered option, said on SAE's checkout & sh/h option page to feature tracking, and recommanded for some coutries (in my case, France), actually does not have any tracking for packages to France-- and some other countries as well, apparently, but I do not which. All the packages from Intrada, Varèse and La-La Land can be tracked without paying extra. SAE's "Registered with tracking" option actually does not have any tracking (not for France, ni any case). Also, I was given two different shipping dates (shipping confirmation, then in reply to my question); the box actually shipping on a third, much later date (which I only found out on the box itself), so that I was very worried for a long while for naught. I'm sticking with Intrada, Varèse, and La-La Land from now on (and Kritzerland and BuySoundtrax, though less often) (plus, in Europe, Quartet, Kronos, Music Box Records, amazon fr/uk/de). I have always only had flawless, perfect experiences with them all (for more than 15 years in the case of the ones I've been ordering from the longest, Intrada & Varèse).
