My predictions for the next-to-last CDs for 2016 are both 2 CD sets, both have never seen complete score releases.
DUNE (Toto-Brian Eno) (1984) - worth getting to hear the still unreleased cues plus the film version of "Take My Hand".
RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER (Johnny Marks) (1964) - since we are now so close to Christmas, it would be a treat to hear all the songs and score as heard in the special in addition to the remastered album. Mike Matessino would enjoy remixing this album!
I am a massive fan of Toto's score fore DUNE. The PEG Edition was a Grail that I finally got after a long hunt. Glad though that I am to own it I still regard it as pretty repetitive. My go to version is the original Polydor release. I assume Universal Music owns that score perpetually?
I believe it when I see it. A real life feature film has been discussed so often. If done right such a film would be costly and would have to sell beyond Germany. I don't think the Toei series was as popular in the US as it was in Germany. Oh, well, should this come to fruition I would recommend an orchestral adaptation of Christian Bruhn's score. Till then I'll enjoy the BluRay edition of the series due December in Germany.
