I'm sorry to all the record labels and fellow members here for complaining when I don't get a Conti or Horner. I now know there are many other great composers out there which I am now discovering, most recently Basil Poledouris. I have been very childish and I am sorry for that.
Kudos for this Henry -- and your more open minded attitude will only benefit you because you are embarking on a journey of a lot more great music. Basil was a great pick to start with (and are you still exploring Goldsmith as you were in the past?)
uh oh--hey henry, does your confession have anything to do with the link I posted on the "Composers You Know You Should Like But Don't..." thread? If so, no sweat, I shamed myself with that one. If not, I still shamed myself with that one. Weird how this all comes out.

Hi Yavar!I am indeed still exlporing Goldsmith, I love his music! And while I'm now open to other composers, I still hate cdrs!
I've never really interpreted it as narrow-mindedness, henry. Only that you have periods where you get particularly interested in one or two things -- like Conti, MAD MAX etc. I've always assumed you listen to other things, and are open to various styles and composers beyond that.
I'm just thankful you are finding new composers besides Bill Conti. Bill is great don't get me wrong, but there are so many others that are brilliant. Jerry Goldsmith's not too shabby either and John Williams.

Hi my friend!Right now I'm really into Horner, he's very close to Conti with me. I just started another thread saying I only need 12 more titles and I will have all of Horner's cds.
