I was browsing around on IMDB trying to find a specific composer and I decided to look up one of my favorite scores, Clue. Upon doing so I noticed that John Morris is listed as a co-composer for the 2016 remake. I'm both intrigued and scared.
I'm guessing they will be using some of the themes from the original but I'm hoping they will do what they did with Children of the Corn. I'm not really excited because the cast is complete unknowns and often the remake is no better than the original. I am at least hoping for some new and memorable music from Mr Morris though.
No. IMDb clearly states where things go and has help guides. And even then the entry is a presumption that one or more the themes from the original score, will be used in this remake score.
I don't think that movie actually exists. I checked their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and nothing has been updated since before they were supposed to start filming several months ago. The last tweets they sent out in May indicate it was going to be a series. The other composer listed on IMDb is Kevin MacLeod, who writes free stock music (incompetech.com), which is why he has over 2000 credits. And Hasbro & Fox are developing their own remake and even hoping to make a franchise out of it (www.slashfilm.com/new-clue-movie).
This other Clue is definitely a no-budget indie, and I'm guessing it's not even happening anymore. Hasbro might have even shut them down, since they were using the logo and all the character names and almost certainly didn't have permission to do so. Maybe that's how the John Morris credit ended up there, too—one more thing they were just going to use without actually getting the rights for it.
