"...unless the sound is important to you" -------------------------------- UNLESS THE SOUND IS IMPORTANT TO YOU!!!??? For John Williams' sake..of course the sound is friggin' important to us!!! Indeed, I cannot fathom how sound cannot be considered an imperative issue, since music consists of sound.

I could not notice any sound difference between the Varese version or both Intradas. The latest Intrada version has a smoother, better dynamic range and not as loud then the other two versions. Overall if one has the first Intrada, I think there is no reason to upgrade? Here is a comparison between the original VARESE CD and the INTRADA 2013 release. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9zcjw3oenzkec64/AABa8I34AtfPPA5DGdeMnbsDa?dl=0 Given these a listen and make up your own mind about the differences Ford A. I wanted to beat this drum again, if I may.... The score is a top fave to me - I'm not crazy about this trend of tweaking mixes, I feel supporting that could create utter nightmares for collectors, and I'm getting too old to need 10 editions even of my favorites, unless they are re-recordings. I see Ford says he heard no difference - anyone else? The run time is a few seconds longer, yet it looks that there are a couple short cues exclusive to this release (yes, taking consideration into the newly split cues, I see those). Mike Arrives & Eliot & Levy are the two I see. Yes?? Did we solve this? Sorry for a hostile tone, I love intrada, support score albums, first world probs, yada yada.... - this one is just kind of a pisser to me & I wanted to see if there are any new opinions or thoughts.

I, too, am on the fence about buying the re-issue. We'll see next time I'm flush with cash.

To my ears the 2nd Intrada release has more reverb/wetness than the 1st. Maybe not quite as much as the Varese but, for me, its the perfect compromise between reverb and content. It's a wonderful listen. I'd certain recommend the latest Intrada as the definitive release. That's exactly what we were going for! Glad someone noticed!

Definitely a Pino original, close to his Blow Out source cue opener, I wondered why it was never included either. Probably done at a separate session, since lost and no one bothered to dig further. Good point, they do sound quite similar! Just goes to show Pino's virtuosity. I'd love to hear the whole subway cue from DtK since it sounds like there's some great stuff happening under the hoods' dialogue. Maybe someday we'll be graced with a miraculous archival find. I'm with you on that! It would have to be placed at the end of the album of course, but I missed it as well. I've bought every issuance of this score, and likely would again! Update: I just tried asking at Intrada's board, but its blocking me today. Roger mentions not everything was found, sadly including the choral cue towards the end, so I wondered if the source cue was among the missing, or if it was decided to be too at odds with the rest to include. Maybe he'll see this and chime in? Cheers! Sean
