I will be the first to admit I was a little underwhelmed with the offerings in the beginning. And it wasn’t all clear to me what all they could release from the Disney archives.
But looking back today I particularly love the whole range of scores they’ve brought to the market. Modern day animated classics like the Tinker Bell series, Rescuers Down Under, and The Black Cauldron. Classic live action film scores like Escape to Witch Mountain, Unidentified Flying Oddball, and Candleshoe. Most recently modern day live action classics like The Rocketeer.
This just touches the surface of the treasure trove Intrada has brought to us from the Disney vaults. I know “holy grail” is often considered overused or misused in context of ones most desired releases. But for me the Intrada/Disney collaboration is the holy grail of partnerships.
I'll second that... especially for the amazing Bruce Broughton releases, the Tinkerbell series, and (of course) The Rocketeer. Still up there on the Disney holy grail list is a compilation of Broughton's theme park work from over the years... Hint hint, Intrada!
I think it was last year that they posted on their forum that they have so many releases in the works, that things were gettign delayed and so forth, but that a bunch of stuff was coming from Disney.
Freaky Friday Johnny Mandel Robin Hood (1973) Where is this full soundtrack been! Saludos Amigos / The Three Caballeros Really love the music on these two films. It would be cool to get a 3-4 disc set.... then again the Disney Legacy collection may want to release this one.
and last but not least MULAN the full Jerry Goldsmith score and any unused music.
