'In fact I was talking to composer Danny Elfman at the Alice Through The Looking Glass premiere last month and he had just spent his first day spotting the film for his music score. Elfman told me that after seeing the movie he decided Blunt’s performance was so powerful he would limit or even remove some of the music he originally planned for her scenes. “I told the director Tate Taylor that she is just too good. She doesn’t need it, which is a rare thing for me to do in composing films,” he said.'

Oh that's interesting... I had sort of guessed that Thomas Newman might end up scoring this movie as he had worked with the director on his last couple pictures (GET ON UP and THE HELP), but I won't complain about Elfman having the job!

"In fact, I thought about it and you know what, she's so good that I don't think we need any music at all! That'll be 2 million dollars please."

This should be one of those Elfman scores y'all been bitching for.

Likewise. I'm sure Elfman will knock it out of the park, but this had Newman written all over it (subject matter, relationship with the director).

From the trailer, it has a little bit of FIFTY SHADES going on (perhaps combined with a little bit of GONE GIRL), so in that regard, it's not totally alien landscape for Elfman.

The book was great. The train was always going from an English town into London, and I'm sorry Hollywood relocated the scenes and towns to America. Still the trailer looks good.

Thor, it really is a study of the rather self-destructive main character along with a mystery. More Gone Girl that 50 Shades.....I hope.

I was surprised to find that Emily Blunt's character remained English... well you do find plenty of English people in the US (not to mention Emily herself is an American citizen).

Try to be careful with posting the track list for a mystery, doof.

Thankfully, I avoided the track list posted a few posts up. Was it necessary to post it and possibly spoil people's enjoyment of the film?

So the movie apparently has people with names such as Megan and Rachel. The film is forever RUINED for me now.

Yeah, if there are any spoilers there they're unspoilerish enough that I don't see them.

I didn't read the titles, for fear of spoilers. At the very least, a highlight-to-read would have sufficed, just in CASE of spoilers.

Yeah, now we know that there's a resolution!

But no final confrontation
