I'm probably in the minority, but I much prefer the '56 original. This remake never did anything for me.

No, I'm in the minority: I like the first *three* Body Snatchers movies: the '56', the '78 AND the one from '93.

It took the Craig/Kidman remake The Invasion for me to make a sour face.

Why does everyone claim the 1994 version was released in '93? It was clearly released in the spring of '94.

Well, technically it was shot in '93, okay?

That's like saying Raiders Of The Lost Ark was released in 1980.

Of course, but it's all trivia.

If you pluralize 1980 in the statement above, it makes sense:

Raiders Of The Lost Ark was released in 1980s.

Scream Factory, the horror-thriller offshoot of independent film distributor Shout Factory, has detailed its upcoming Collector's Edition Blu-ray of Philip Kaufman's film Invasion of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), starring Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Jeff Goldblum, Veronica Cartwright, and Leonard Nimoy. The release will be available for purchase on August 2.

Synopsis: Under cover of darkness, while an unsuspecting city sleeps, an alien life form begins to sow the seeds of unspeakable terror. Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Leonard Nimoy, Veronica Cartwright and Jeff Goldblum star in this shocking, "first-rate suspense thriller" (Newsday).

As the phenomenon spreads, two Department of Health workers, Matthew (Sutherland) and Elizabeth (Adams), uncover the horrifying truth: Mysterious pods are cloning humans — and destroying the originals! The unworldly invasion grows stronger with each passing minute, hurling Matthew and Elizabeth into a desperate race to save not only their own lives, but the future of the entire human race.
