Finally got around to watching this. Found the music very well done and a huge presence in the film. Not sure if McCreary meant it but I find the first four notes reminiscent of the Dies Irae which would be fitting for this picture. I like how he plays around with this 5 note motive and really let's loose in the final track. It reminds me of classic scores that actually build to something rather than going to 11 right out of the gates.
Nice job. Will be ordering the CD as iTunes doesn't do this justice.
Also wondering if this score will garner any award attention. As far as this year goes, I think the music plays a pivotal role in this film and should be recognized as a terrific achievement.
