Paul Kantner, one of the founders and guitarists of Jefferson Airplane which later became Jefferson Starship, has died. Any remembrances of this fine musician?
Not of him, specifically, but I did listen to my fair share of Jefferson Airplane while growing up (I actually grew up in the 80s and 90s, but I often listened to my dad's music). Sorry to hear that he's gone.
Have all his albums with and without JA & Starship. His "Blows against the Empire" album is a classic of sci-fi. However his 1980's "Planet Rock & Roll Orchestra" was even better. His late 80's band "KBC Band " ( with Marty Balin, Jack Cassidy etc..) was superb even if never sold well. A good songwriter with a superb imagination. He'll be missed tremendously , so sad to see all these rockers of my youth die. RIP Paul.
