I'm starting to get concerned. There are still so many great unreleased titles.

I'd kill for some original DYNASTY and FALCON CREST music. Damn that stuff is inspired. At least the main/end title variations for both shows...

Hard to say.

But it's been the same with Williams. The last unreleased score to get a premiere release was, I think, NIGHTWATCH in 2011. Everything since then has been reissues and expansions of scores that already had a release. I'm also starting to worry that we've seen the last of old and unreleased Williams scores after FSM went down.

I think there are probably still a few left that can be done, but they're tougher ones and may take more time. I know Intrada is waiting to find more than partial elements for a couple of titles they've pursued, but if the rest doesn't turn up in their searching you may see some incomplete Conti releases -- which I'm guessing you'd still find to be better than nothing! Thinking good thoughts on your behalf, henry. (At least you've really gotten into Goldsmith too, and there's no dearth of new releases on that front.)

I love Conti and want to see more unreleased works come to light, but even more than that I want filmmakers to hire him to score movies on a regular basis again.

Henry, with all due respect, you're being a little silly. Nobody at any record company announces "That's it, we've done enough Conti, that's the end of the road for him forever." Some titles are available, some are not, some will become available. All of the labels are working on many projects simultaneously, some come together quickly, some take a while, some are back-burnered for years.

There are many soundtrack labels, and they hardly walk in lockstep. They do what's prudent at the time, a combination of passion and economics.

I see no reason to believe there will never be more Conti. None at all.

Exactly what Schiffy said, can we stop with the hysterical, "sky is falling" threads? There is no Illuminati-type consortium who decreed that there shall be no more Conti ever released, from here forward. That is insane thinking. It all comes to what's available for music elements, what can be licensed at a reasonable fee, what effort has to be put into a title and if it will sell. The labels will of course lean towards titles and composers that sell better than others, they're a business, not a soundtrack charity. If that means less Conti, then that's the reality of the situation.

I hope not. If so this means that we will have to settle with the regular releases of the Rocky music. I was just listening to Prayer for the Dying the other day. Never discovered this score till it came out. One of my favorites from him now.

If it's any comfort I added Lock Up to my latest Varese order. Showing some Conti love.

Sorry, it's over. The remaining Conti tapes at Disney and Universal are barred from access as a result of you never being satisfied for longer than 10 minutes. After all, these Conti albums are done just for you.

Yep, all done. The labels have moved on to getting some of the more neglected composers represented, like Intrada with Malcolm Arnold/Heroes of Telemark, Ron Goodwin/Candleshoe, etc.

I'm with the majority here, please stop with this nonsense. You're getting as bad as that poster who's obsessed with Georges Delerue! I GET you're a Bill Conti fan (as am I, like many others here) but this is just a tad overboard. Just be patient, more will come when the time is right.

At least there were plenty of Conti titles in the past. I'm a fan of Carter Burwell and so far only one (let me repeat that: only one!) specialty label has released one of his scores. And that wasn't even really a Carter Burwell release, but a Mark Isham one. Thankfully Quartet were so kind to add Burwell's rejected score.

Yep. Nick Redman, MV Gerhard, Matt Verboys, Doug Fake, Roger Feigelson, and Ford Thaxton all got together in the secret soundtrack producers underground bunker and agreed between themselves that they're done with Conti. After reading so many of Henry's posts about Conti, they all conspired together to intentionally block any future projects involving his music, because they are all megalomaniacal control-freaks who like to mess with our minds and emotions. It's all a big cover up!

I listened to Five Days from Home again recently and was reminded of how damn cool Conti's music can be (I like that one better than Rocky!). Looking forward to other unknown (to me) gems the labels may discover in the future.

Oh, give henry a break already! He's just passionate about Conti, and I totally understand where's he coming from. This is a pretty harsh community.

Hey I'm not that obsessed, I haven't started a thread proclaiming the end of a specific composer's CD releases.....yet.

Conti's back-catalogue increased 300% over recent years. Be grateful for that.

I don't think anybody's being especially harsh. Sarcastic, sure. But let's be honest: It's not a question that makes any sense at all, and even if it were, it's not a question anybody here would be able to answer. I find henry's love of Conti endearing, truly, and I hope he gets some scores he's hoping for soon. But this sort of provocative "woe is me" that he posts every few months is pretty silly, and not useful.

But henry, honestly -- good luck!
