DON'T LOOK BACK was a thriller about a woman (Lucy Griffiths) whose life is at a crossroads. After moving back into the house she inherited from her grandmother, she comes to grips with the traumatic memories from her childhood, and takes in an inquisitive, seductive new roommate (Cassidy Freeman) who is not entirely whom she appears to be. Piper plays a sinister character whom Griffiths meets at the house in this 2014 production.

THE RECONCILER is a thriller marketed to the faith community about a man shrouded in mystery, known only as the Reconciler, who gathers those who are estranged, angry, and distant from each other to see if they can reconcile before it’s too late. Roddy Piper plays "Russ," a magazine editor who assigns a writer (Sherry Morris) to the story, and through his patient counsel, has her seeing the bigger picture.

Piper had a small role in the 2014 romantic comedy OTHER PLANS.

Piper's last film released to date was THE MASKED SAINT, which won the Best Picture award at the 2015 International Christian Film Festival. The film is about a wrestler (Brett Granstaff) who leaves the ring to become a pastor in a small town. When the pastor witnesses rampant problems in the community, he decides to moonlight as a masked vigilante fighting the injustice. While facing crises at home and at the church, the pastor must evade the police and somehow reconcile his secret, violent identity with his calling as a pastor.

Roddy Piper had completed work on four additional films before his death, which are now in post-production. Thus, we can look forward to additional performances in the year ahead.

Here's to a man who left us much too soon.

So I'll remember Piper for his lead role in They Live! - The rest listed seems pretty darn awful.

I had no idea he was quite so prolific, no matter what the quality of the films....

Bob, as always - thank you! A few here that I need to have a look at....

Who doesn't remember the time on "Piper's Pit" when he hit Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka on the head with a coconut?

Very surreal. You could not be a kid living in Portland in the '70s/'80s without knowing who Roddy Rowdy Piper was. Saw him on TV a lot and at local appearances. He was a lot of fun and a memorable part of my childhood.

I remember he appeared in wrestlemania XIX during Hulk Hogan fight. I forgot now the name of Hulk's match.
RIP Roddy!

"Tagteam" was a 1991 television pilot in which two wrestlers, played by Roddy Piper and Jesse "The Body" Ventura, are fired after refusing to throw a match. After stopping a grocery store robbery, they get the idea to become cops. So begins a new chapter in the life of this tag team.

Although the show was originally guaranteed a 13-episode run, Carolco Pictures (who co-produced the show) got caught up in a lawsuit that was unrelated to the program. It was put on the back burner while the lawsuit was ongoing, and the project was ultimately abandoned. The one-hour pilot was burned off by ABC on a Saturday night in January 1991.

And said pilot (which The IndieProd Company (a division of Carolco)* did with Touchstone) can be seen in full on YouTube, with commercials and credits.

*So sadly we don't get to see

at the end.

I always thought Roddy Piper looked like a weathered down Ralph Meeker.
