https://www.varesesarabande.com/products/lp-to-cd-april-fools-day This month's title in the LP to CD series is INVITATION AU VOYAGE. Academy Award winning composer Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, Cold Mountain) turns voyeuristic tendencies and sexuality into otherworldly melodies. Also included are two key songs from the film, "Don't Follow Me" and "Assassin." The only way to get INVITATION AU VOYAGE is by joining the LP to CD subscription by August 14th. The next album in the series will be announced on August 15th!

I love all those vintage Varese LP cover. So cool and retro! Btw, this is a really interesting and unique score. Hope you all dig it as much as I do!

I recognize the covers of most Varese 80's releases. It's what comes of hanging out in the Soundtrack section of about 15-20 record stores throughout the decade. But this one I don't recognize at all, nor the film (and I went to see most French films that came out and managed a video store in the 80's for chrissakes!). Was this even more under the radar than most?

Very excited to see this!! I'm a huge Yared fan and this was my most wanted of the potential titles for the LP to CD series.

Is everyone aware this score was released elsewhere on CD and is currently available? It's on Gabriel Yared Film Music Vol 3, and is available for around £10 from amazon.co.uk still. Aside from being in a proper box, with liner notes, etc, it also comes with two other scores. But there's no songs on it, so rabid Yared collectors will still want this one, I suspect. I assume he did the songs himself, but I've never seen the film. Not one of his best scores, especially considering how much he was cooking at the time. It's about 20 mins long. Tracks were available before as anyone can find that information on soundtrackcollector.com, but this is the FIRST time the entire LP presentation and songs have been released on CD. More music than previously available on that compilation album. So yes, this is the FIRST time this LP presentation is available in it's entirety on CD!

In future, can we not put the next release in the thread title? I'm quite into the idea of it being a surprise until I open the package.
