AI expanded by LaLaLand made me think of Apollo 13 by Horner. Can LaLaLand or anyone have it in them to expand Apollo 13 and return safely?

This looks like an Intrada release

Why?

Because Roger or Doug (cant remember who) posted on the Intrada site that they are working on it and to be patient. Universal appears to be the slowest to grant approvals. Took 4 years for Conan 1 and we're on year 7 waiting for Conan 2. It will come, but the eta is in Universals control.

All we really need is a licensed, retail version of the Apollo 13 promo CD. The difference between that and the chopped-up, mass-market songtrack album is as great as the difference between the living and the dead.

Certainly up there on the top of my want list, and a score that really deserves a complete presentation.

Excellent news.

But on that some great music is missing still.
The music right before the re-entry, when everyone on earth is preparing, you see those helis,
and someone says "it is time" , looking into the room of Lovell's wife.

This is one of the cues I really want to have.

It must be a good couple of years since Intrada's "Be Patient"

Hopefully that patience will be rewarded soon wink

Mind you, didn't the film come out in '95? That's 20 years I've been waiting for the soundtrack.

It would definitely be nice to have the promo contents officially available. I've heard the complete score and there's a ton of shorter cues which really harm the listening experience.

Now I want it, too. Thanks a LOT.

I completely disagree with that (I really enjoy the shorter cues you mention) but to each their own.

I'm sure this had been answered but I don't remember. Was the isolated track on the DVD the entire score or the promo?

It wasn't an "isolated score track" per say, in the sense that it wasn't synced to the picture.

Basically, if you left one of the menus of the DVD playing, it played the entire contents of the promo CD.

No isolated score. Just a straight presentation of the near 60min promo CD.

I agree that the promo is a great presentation, but there are still a few cues that need release, particularly the one where the helicoptor departs to pick up the pod just before the reentry sequence.

Thanks for answering my question. I just assumed what was on the DVD was the complete score. (I know never assume!) I quite enjoyed the score as heard on the DVD. But I would be open to a more complete release.

Edit:
Basically, if you left the main menu of the DVD playing, it played the entire contents of the promo CD.

Actually it was in the language options menu. wink

The promo is a very nicely put together 60 minute program of all the right highlights.

But there are another 20 minutes of short cues that remain unreleased (2 of which were not used in the movie), and then there's 4 alternate version cues as well.

A specialty label release of this score would be most welcome!

Thanks for answering my question. I just assumed what was on the DVD was the complete score. (I know never assume!)

In this case, it's understandable as there was something of a precedent; the Languages menu of the original DVD of The Mummy did indeed feature the complete score.
