I saw Mr. Holland's Opus this weekend on TV. I pulled out the score yesterday and was in a puddle listening to it. All I could say to myself was "Oh my God, what we have lost" and then rethought and said "oh, but look what we have gained". Michael Kamen left us too soon but his work is timeless. Happy Birthday dear man.
Michael Kamen is very much missed in the world of film music and his wonderful personality. He just loved music and was so enthusiastic to anyone who was interested. I miss his music and style and wish more of his scores could be released. It is a shame so many are still not available or expanded and nobody seems interested in releasing them.
