MONDAY, APRIL 13

CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON---Scarlett Johansson is Universal Pictures' top candidate to star in the remake of its classic 1954 movie. Julie Adams was the female star in the original movie. Gary Ross (THE HUNGER GAMES) is the co-writer/producer of the remake. His father, Arthur A. Ross, co-wrote the original movie.





FERRARI---Robert De Niro is the star/co-producer of this biomovie about Italian sports car legend Enzo Ferrari. Clint Eastwood, a former Ferrari owner, has expressed an interest in directing. The script is by the team of Stephen J. Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson (NIXON).





DEADPOOL---Ryan Reynolds released a photo of himself and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.





CREED---Sylvester Stallone released a photo from the ROCKY spinoff movie that stars Michael B. Jordan and Stallone.





STAR TREK 3---Sofia Boutella (KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE) will play a major but undisclosed role in the sequel.

AQUAMAN---James Wan (FURIOUS 7, THE CONJURING) is the top candidate to direct the Warner Bros./DC Comics movie starring Jason Momoa.

THE DARK TOWER---Sony Pictures will co-produce the movie/tv series project based on the Stephen King novels. Both Warner bros. and Universal Pictures dropped the project due to budget problems.

THE SECRET LIFE OF MARILYN MONROE---Lifetime two-part miniseries based on the book about Marilyn Monroe's many personal secrets including her stay in a mental institution after inheriting schizophrenia from her mother. Kelli Garner and Susan Sarandon star. Premiere is May 30-31.





GOTHAM---Ben McKenzie commented on the season finale, "Not everybody lives, and the people who do live don't necessarily end up mentally all there. There's a price to be paid. It's really crazy."

GOING IN STYLE---Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin will star in the remake of the 1979 senior citizen caper movie that starred George Burns and Art Carney. Zach Braff will direct the remake.

FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM---Eddie Redmayne is the top candidate to star in the Harry Potter spinoff movie which will be directed by David Yates.

SPIDER-MAN---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said the reboot movie won't be an origin movie, "In Spider-Man’s very specific case, where there have been two retellings of that origin in the last whatever it’s been – [thirteen] years – for us we are going to take it for granted that people know that, and the specifics. It will not be an origin story...We’ve already designed the costume, which is different than any of the ones that have come before. And yet ours is classic Spidey, as I think you’ll see."

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST---Ian McKellen will co-star as the Beast's butler Cogsworth in the Walt Disney Pictures live-action remake of its animated movie.

DEEPWATER HORIZON---Kurt Russell and Dylan O'Brien are in talks to co-star with Mark Wahlberg in the movie about the 2010 BP oil rig disaster.

CAN YOU FORGIVE ME?---Julieanne Moore is in negotiations to star in this movie based on the Lee Israel memoir in which a biographer needs money and resorts to selling forged letters from celebrities and then stealing real celebrity letters that were sold through an ex-con fence.

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW---Fox live broadcast remake of the cult movie will premiere on its 40th anniversary.

POWER RANGERS---Dean Israelite (PROJECT ALMANAC) is to talks to direct the movie.
