I picked up a set of trailers for this picture, was intrigued by the prevues and bought the DVD from Amazon. I watched it last night. Very enjoyable film but I have one question. Was Norman Burton the original choice to play Detective Roscoe? It seems like someone with a bit more comic or star gravitas would have helped make this a better film. I realized it's a 2nd-tier cast all around but I thought Burton really kept the comedy lid from blowing off.
Also - would this be a picture ripe for remake or would such a race be impracticable because of technological advances (they could just "send in the drones" to take 'em all out!)?
