Yeah, except that it'll be a long, long time before this particular cow runs dry, as it's not one cow but a whole herd.

This cracked me up. Did Marvel also "severely dislike" the dough that it put in their pockets?

Of course they didn't dislike the money, but whatever cut Marvel/Disney gets from Sony's movies isn't the point. They'd rather have control of the character and be able to use him in their own movies, and also don't want what might be considered inferior efforts diminishing the overall Marvel brand.

Enough already. Let's all work together and make sure that it is the reboot that is, how did they put it?... "ignored".

The Andrew Garfield movies? It sounds like just enough people ignored the second one to make Sony rethink their plans already.

People ignored it to the tune of .7billion dollars worldwide! It may be critically derided and rightly so, it might have underperformed compared to the property's potential, but I don't think it was ignored!

It is strange how a hated movie can make so much money.
Transformers 4 - case in point.

The only director out of that Star Trek short list that is a good one is Rupert Wyatt.
Justin Lin? wow, that sounds really bad.

At the risk of repeating myself, in hopes that someone at Paramount wakes up.
Brad Bird. Hello?

I wouldn't mind a Justin Lin Trek outing at all....and the other two names there are good prospects too I think.....but a Rupert Wyatt Star Trek movie? Now that's tantalising....
