THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30

13 HOURS---Michael Bay is in negotiations to direct the movie based on the book about the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the US compound in Benghazi, Libya in which Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans died and the security team that tried to rescue them. The script is by Chuck Hogan (THE TOWN, THE STRAIN).

AMERICAN GIGOLO---Jerry Bruckheimer is developing a tv series based on his 1980 movie which starred Richard Gere as a Los Angeles male escort who is suspected of murder. Paul Schrader, who wrote and directed the movie, will be a consultant on the series.

DOCTOR WHO---Neil Gaiman said he wants to write a third episode, "I'm just sort of hoping that I can get one done while Peter Capaldi is still the Doctor, because it would be a very sad thing if I lost my chance to write for a grumpy, Scottish Doctor."
He added, "I haven't done an episode set on Earth yet, and I haven't created a new monster. So there are boxes left to tick. And there's part of me that feels... I haven't scared anybody yet. I'd love to do something that sends adults behind the sofa too and makes them wee."

GAME OF THRONES---the cast signed new contracts with HBO for Seasons 5 and 6 with an option for Season 7 that makes them among the highest-paid actors in cable tv.

THE WALKING DEAD---Australian horror director Marvin Kren (BLOOD GLACIER, ABCs OF DEATH 2) said about the zombie series, I think THE WALKING DEAD sucks. It’s boring. I loved the pilot, but I think the rest is boring. There's too much drama. By the end, there’s too much whiny stuff. There’s too much hysterics, too many tears."

THE NIGHT MANAGER---AMC will air the BBC miniseries based on the John le Carre novel. Hugh Laurie (HOUSE) and Tim Hiddleston (THOR) star.

LEAGUE OF PAN---Fox Peter Pan pilot set in current Los Angeles 15 years after the Lost Boys left Neverland. They reunite after someone begins killing them off one-by-one.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAKS---Lily Rabe is returning to the series, and Neil Patrick Harris will guest star.

RICHIE RICH---new Netflix sitcom based on the comic book starring Jake Brennan (DARK SKIES) as a teenager who made a trillion dollars in green technology.

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES---Isla Fisher will co-star with Jon Hamm and Zach Galifianakis in this comedy movie in which a suburban couple discover their new neighbors are really spies.

Geez, what a silly comment. The GREAT thing about that series is the intelligent drama and the complex character development and the very fact that it's not ONLY a gung-ho zombie monster thing. If he wants something less ambitious, then watch Z NATION instead (which is enjoyable for what it is, but not the same kind of quality series, obviously).

Oh well, I guess everyone's entitled to their opinion. Even this Kren guy.

Oh for goodness' sake. (Actually, I wanted to say something shorter and stronger than "goodness," but I don't want to get into trouble.)
