http://www.doctorwhonews.net/2014/10/day-time-soundtrack-281014190515.html There you go. The Day of the Doctor/The Time of the Doctor. Full track listings for the 50th Anniversary Special and the last Christmas Special. They took their time but we're getting the soundtracks in the end. I suspect there'll be a fair amount of variations of existing themes (which I love anyway), as I don't remember much new scoring for the first of these specials. No cover as yet though.

Great news although still no release of the final version of the titles music for the 11th doctor. Strange.

Yeah, that's a big oversight. Has someone tried twittering Murray Gold? I've heard he takes suggestions and is sometimes surprised about what's been left off. I'm glad this release is finally happening. Yavar

It's very surprising that there's enough music from the specials to require two discs, but it's delightful that we're getting it.

I didn't mean to sound negative, but I think I did^. I am excited, and for all I know 90 plus percent of the release will be new music. I really am just still bummed the regeneration scene was tracked. One day I'll get over it^ I would have been bummed if it hadn't been so perfect as is. But sure, it would have been nice to get thematic send off of "I am the Doctor" like we did for Nine / Ten's theme. A year later I still think both of these episodes were slam dunks.

Time of the Doctor felt a bit rushed but the ending was great. I think Day of the Doctor was awesome all the way through but after the incredible short film Night of the Doctor I was disappointed they didn't just make Paul McGann the War Doctor (as some had suspected before) rather than unnecessarily bringing introducing John Hurt (who I loved, don't get me wrong...I just though McGann was great and could have handled the role very well himself without any need to regenerate). I do think it's a big missed opportunity to not include the new theme arrangement on this release. It wouldn't make sense to put it on a future Capaldi release since he has his own arrangement, so I guess we'll never get it on CD? Yavar

I might be talking rubbish here.... so forgive me if I am, but I seem to remember reading a while back (on this forum I think) that Silva had a rights issue with the original Doctor Who theme, meaning they would struggle to include it on any cd's since Matt Smith's first version. All Murray Gold material is fine, but for some reason Ron Grainer's (and Delia's) work is out of reach. I notice the arrangement of the theme from the Day Of The Doctor isn't included either. (Assuming it's not part of the last track)

What happened to "Hello Twelve" that was originally the last track? The new list ends with track 17. It's right here on the Silva Doctor Who page bhttp://www.doctorwhomusic.com/doctor-who-the-day-of-the-doctor-the-time-of-the-doctor/ back at no. 18 safe and sound. But the GREATEST news is that there is speculation that there was a brand new Murray Gold score that went largely unused for The Day of the Doctor, which seems to be the old case of the director or someone falling in love with the temp track full of reused old stuff! Same old story eh? After feeling let down by the lack of new music for such a big event my hope is restored that at least we'll get to hear the new music on cd. Really looking forward to this now.
