Btw, I noticed that the beginning of the track "Ride with the angel" can be heard just before the end credits ("Murphy's Law").
That's also on the LP version of the track. "Murphy's Law" on the LP begins with the first minute of the piano intro of "Ride With The Angels", then cutting to the music which is on the CD as "Murphy's Law". Hence the difference in timings between LP and CD of the "Murphy's Law" track.
I don't know why the "Hide And Seek"-track is marked as 7:13 on the LP compared to the 6:59 on the CD. I've just listened to the LP again today. I've noticed nothing which is missing on the CD. To me it also seems to be a typo on the LP.
And, as you already mentioned above: the version on CD *IS* the original soundtrack version. It's not a re-recording. I've just read the thread on Amazon and could only shake my head because of this stupidity. This "Steve Dallas"-guy is a jerk. He pretends to know the LP in detail, but did not recognize that "River Chase" from the LP is on the CD as "Adios J.A.F.O."? Oh well.... The sad thing is there are always some people who believe this.
Btw, is the so-called dance-version of "Murphy's theme" any good?
There's no much difference to "Murphy's Law". The track begins with some helicopter noise, but after that it seems for me to be more or less the same thing - like another edit of "Murphy's Law".
If any one wonders about differences in the running time on certain tracks ("Hide And Seek" excepted, where I think this is an error on the LP): for the LP many cuts were made. Some seconds here, some seconds there, perhaps to give the music a bit smoother flow. On the CD there is the totally uncut adult experience.
Damn. Such a shame one of the problems holding up any future release for this is prohibitive costs. I'd love a sparkly spanking edition of this classic 80's hybrid score.
