Set designer Anne Seibel's excellent website features numerous photos of her work on Magic in the Moonlight as well as her other Woody Allen projects, Midnight in Paris and To Rome with Love.

I wish they'd publish books of this stuff!

I have never seen a Woody Allen movie (unless Antz qualifies).

I envy you. There is only one Woody Allen movie that I actually like and that is Hollywood Ending. So I recommend that one since the rest of his movies is just nothing for me.

Alright, Montana Dave, today's the big day. I can only guess that you're in traction so you have nothing but time to watch Woody's latest.

Thanks for the jogging of my memory Jim Phelps. I should get this tomorrow from Netflix; looking forward to some Woody.

I watched Magic in the Moonlight on DVD for the first time last night and everything about the film really hit the spot. The entire offering went down light and airy-like and I found myself appreciatively smiling throughout. The three glasses of red wine I drank made the entire time all the more enjoyable but did not in any way deceive me into thinking I was watching a great film; I stand by my original review. However, the film's pacing is better suited to a home viewing setting and I found myself wanting to immediately watch the movie again. I had that "blue" feeling after the movie ended and did not want it to end. I get this feeling a lot after films and TV shows that I particularly enjoy.

Hey Montana Dave (wherever ye may be)!

Woody's next film will be titled 'IRRATIONAL MAN'.

http://www.woodyallenpages.com/2015/01/irrational-man-title-woody-allens-2015-film/

"‘Irrational Man‘ is also a philosophical book by William Barrett. Credited with introducing existentialism to the English speaking world, it ties into both the reported serious tone, and the theme of philosophy in the film."

But wait! The Woodman Speaketh:

"Sony Classics and I have a good working relationship. I like the way they handle my movies, very special, very classy and I always hope my films live up to their expectations."

Saw it tonight for the first time.

1. Between this and Birdman, I'm convinced that Emma Stone's saucer eyes are capable of hypnotizing me into doing who knows what.

2. Splendid photography and design. Woody could easily make an excellent classic Great Gatsby film - too bad we just had a recent remake!

3. The Manhattan reference was quite a delight - that film being the pinnacle of Allen's early movies, imo.

4. As a devout Christian, I wince at Woody's defense of atheism but admire that he is one of the few filmmakers who tackles philosophical/metaphysical issues at all.

Not many (any?) "Rom-Coms" can claim such a premise for their film.
