Wow, this is extensive. And for £20 not too expensive either. I already own the four discs containing Silva's Film Music Of Zimmer Vol 1 and 2, but of course this is an interesting 6CD-set.

Shame they put so much emphasis on the Batman scores. Considering the scores don't vary that much, there's no need to include five or six cues per film

Best as I can see, these are the previously unreleased tracks: You're That Spider Guy (From "The Amazing Spider-Man 2") - Look Closely (From "Winter's Tale") - Home (From "The Lone Ranger") - Rango Suite (From "Rango") Mombasa (From "Inception") - Dream Within A Dream (From "Inception") - Hero (From "Kung Fu Panda") - Opening Titles (From "Call of Duty modern Warfare 2") - Watergate (From "Frost / Nixon") - Maestro (From "The Holiday") - Fighting 17th (From "Backdraft") End Credits (From "A World Apart") - You mean not available on other Silva releases? What about the Rush track? 12 Years A Slave?

I would be interested in disc 6. Several of those tracks are on disc 2 of "Film Music Of Hans Zimmer" fom Silva.

Without a single track from Hannibal there is nothing definitive about this release.

I love to hear some music from Toys and Radio Flyer! Toys is an underrated score. Came to think of it, I don't even have the CD.

Got this package today, what a lovely set this is. I mean, the packaging itself is lovely, the art design very well executed, 6 slim line CD cases in a box, Silva's preferred packaging for these multi disc sets these days. The music, well, I pretty much had most of it from earlier Silva sets, but it IS nice to have it all collected in one box. The new tracks on disc 1 are good, both the London Music Works and City Of Prague tracks. If you never picked up Silva's earlier Pirates Of The Carribbean CD, I believe this set includes all of the tracks there, and the Prague orchestra really hit a homerun on these. I prefer their take on The Kraken from Dead Man's Chest to the original film version actually, it seems to have more of a boogie woogie feel to the piano and drums, love how they cut this one ! Also, you get all of their Dark Knight tracks and DaVinci / Angels and Demons cuts as well, the FANTASTIC 180 BPM is not to be missed. And as usual with Silva's compilations, the sound is perfect, crisp and clear. Thanks to Silva, James Fitzpatrick for his stellar work as always, and anyone and everyone involved here. The set only cost about $25 from an Amazon retailer, so it was a freaking bargain. People complain about Silva's recycling tracks but keep in mind these sets appeal to a much wider audience than the core collector's community. I just reap the rewards But really, a standout set.

I also like that the album plays in reverse chronological order - that means the music keeps getting better and better as you go along Touche.

I obviously have many of these tracks on their original soundtracks, and I have bits and pieces of the Silva re-rerecordings too. But how would you evaluate the performances, overall? Do they add something that the originals don't? I'm not a big fan of the performances of the more electronic based stuff, disc 6 for instance, which sound a bit clumsy. Mostly because I'm so used to the superior original versions. The more orchestral stuff works better, mostly because I don't have the originals to compare with.
