This is for all the fellow 80s soundtrack score enthusiasts on FSM.
I thought i'd share a new (well not new, but just put out now) track that I'd made.
Plenty of toms, hard snares and 80s synthesizers.
Very nice job, and you brought back a lot of memories of 1980s synths. You will enjoy the upcoming Perseverance reissue of Tangerine Dream's score to Michael Mann's film THIEF with the additional cue 'Confrontation' by Craig Safan. TG set the standard for synth use in films. I just wish that the rights mess with SORCERER would be settled so we can get a BD version with an isolated score.
What the hell.... this really does capture that 80's synth style... I could imagine popping in a VHS tape and hearing this over some main titles... or even dropping the needle on a Varese LP and hearing this.
Great stuff!! What equipment did you use? Analog synths and drummachines (like Korg and Yamaha) or VST plug-ins? Just curious.
Thanks, you can't beat the 80s synthesizer sound!
I used a single free VST plugin for all the sounds and programmed all the sounds, and drums were free Linndrum samples (snare is the Rock Set sample used on countless soundtracks like Teen Wolf etc).
I have plenty more tracks, and they will be complete next year.
Wow! What you can do these days with computers What Free VST Plug in did you use may i ask? I also have a bunch of them using them in Ableton but hasn't succeed in getting this sound as of yet! Got an Ensonique synth VST called the SQ8L which has a great John Carpenter like sound called "Voyager" I am really looking forward to more of your tracks.
