This is for all the fellow 80s soundtrack score enthusiasts on FSM.

I thought i'd share a new (well not new, but just put out now) track that I'd made.

Plenty of toms, hard snares and 80s synthesizers.

Very nice job, and you brought back a lot of memories of 1980s synths. You will enjoy the upcoming Perseverance reissue of Tangerine Dream's score to Michael Mann's film THIEF with the additional cue 'Confrontation' by Craig Safan. TG set the standard for synth use in films. I just wish that the rights mess with SORCERER would be settled so we can get a BD version with an isolated score.

Hope you are still composing new music.

What the hell.... this really does capture that 80's synth style... I could imagine popping in a VHS tape and hearing this over some main titles... or even dropping the needle on a Varese LP and hearing this.

Excellent stuff ...

Wow! Really amazing. One of my favorite styles of music. If you made a whole album with that sound, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. smile

Excellent work.

Great work, reminds me of those good old TRANCERS Movies that FULL MOON used to make, with a little touch of that great amiga game TURRICANE II.

Definitely sounds like you captured that 80s feel, to me as good as anything a TD or a Faltermeyer would do!

Great stuff!! What equipment did you use? Analog synths and drummachines (like Korg and Yamaha) or VST plug-ins? Just curious.

Thanks, you can't beat the 80s synthesizer sound!

I used a single free VST plugin for all the sounds and programmed all the sounds, and drums were free Linndrum samples (snare is the Rock Set sample used on countless soundtracks like Teen Wolf etc).

I have plenty more tracks, and they will be complete next year.

Thanks,
sure, I will be putting out a collection next year, just completing some other projects first.

I'm reworking some stuff and tweaking a few things here and there.

Wow! What you can do these days with computerswink What Free VST Plug in did you use may i ask? I also have a bunch of them using them in Ableton but hasn't succeed in getting this sound as of yet! Got an Ensonique synth VST called the SQ8L which has a great John Carpenter like sound called "Voyager"
I am really looking forward to more of your tracks.

Hi,
I used the Japanese made VST (quite old now compared with today's ones) called "Synth1".
I don't even think i'm on the latest version and I've used this one primarily out of neccessity because my computer is still quite old, and you can run many multiple instances of this without any issues whatsoever.
You can usually layer things very easily.

The SQ8L is great, lots of sounds on there.

FM7 or FM8 is great, the best way to get the 80s ballad piano sound as i've used in a couple of examples.

I do have a good recommendation by a few people to consider one a vst called "Diva", which is very analog sounding. I'll probably look into that once I get my new dedicated audio computer up and running next year.

Yes, should be great to have a new remastered version of Thief, Thief is a seminal moment in electronic music, one of TD's finest, the arpeggios and detail in the sounds is amazing. I've been on a TD listening spree this last year or so, and totally agree an isolated score for Sorcerer would be perfect.

It would be so much easier wouldn't it if all movies came with an isolated score! Save us the hassle of waiting decades.

I'm still waiting on so many classic scores to be released.
