Look at all the posts in this thread! FSMers really love art, don't they? Love the art, can't be bothered with the books. We like to see them in the flesh, though - post-impressionism at the RA, Rembrandts at the Rijksmuseum, Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo at the Louvre, the van Goghs at the Musee d'Orsay and, in a couple of weeks' time: David, and The Birth of Venus in Florence. As well as some tower in Pisa that I'm going to photograph from such an angle as to make it look straight. One day I hope someone will do the same for me But don't stop, Jim - I enjoy reading about your acquisitions.

In addition to finally getting around to having an art book collection, actually visiting museums with these works has been a rewarding experience. El Museo Prado, La Sofia Reina, Museu Picasso, Neue--as opposed to Neuer--Galerie, MoMA, Guggenheim, The Leopold, those French ones you mention and on a different but no less exhilarating note, the good ol' Victoria & Albert in Old Blighty. All have been memorable and did I happen to mention my weakness for museum book shops? I'm like the typical FSMer at a Star Wars convention at those places.
