Listening to it right now -- omg, it sounds amazing! Love "The Lab/Old Times" track. Whatever that cute little noise is cooing intermittently, I love it. I already loved the cat howls Goldsmith incorporated. Such an inventive score.
hve anyone received this - mine ha not shipped yet
My order is still listed as pending and I haven't received a shipping email, but the SAE order page states that it was shipped via US post and gives a tracking number. From this I infer that the order has probably shipped but that the order status wasn't updated - maybe this is the case with your order too?

Chris.
That's how mine reads , pending and then the tracking number. Ordered the day of release around 3:30 or so EST. So yeah it seems they're on the way but no ship notice and the status is not updated. Never fear - give it a day or two
I just looked out the window from inside the living room of the second story of our condo, and I can actually see the package from SAE that contains Gremlins sitting inside of my mailbox, as the mailman sorts the rest of the mail into the various slots. In mere moments, it will be in my hands, and then in our CD player. I'm all-a-flutter with giddiness!!!
I got my copy today, and I am very pleased! This one is from FSM's "Retrograde" line which doesn't have the standard FSM spine lettering. It will really stand out on my shelf
I haven't heard the whole thing yet, but I decided to program the old foot warmer sequence in order to get a healthy taste for the sound quality and save the extra 10 minutes for another day. Way to stretch out the fun, eh? (Yes, I am a geek and I love it.)
I have only listened through headphones at this point, but I notice a discernible improvement over any previous recordings out there; it's polished, smooth, well mixed and without any kind of hiss or distortion whatsoever. The cue "The Shop" has enough clarity to be able to hear the "human" movements and minutiae.

The bootleg was sourced from a cassette tape that was at least three generations down (and likely more). It should be no surprise that the real thing is in a different class.
SchiffyM is right... the original GREMLINS clearly sounds like it came from a cassette that was copied over many times. We owe a big debt of gratitude to whomever was responsible for making it originally: Until this day, it was the only way any of us could hear this sucker. Fortunately, none of us will have to play it again now.
Ive ordered mine along with Uncharted 3 and Fall of the Roman Empire. These and GREMLINS amount to 6 cds! What a great listening experience this would make.
