The main theme for The Shadow is nearly identical to Waxman's Prince Valiant.

WTF?!?!?!!? Boy, I suspected some people here had no ear. Now I know IT!

I guess it`s you who has no ears. Just listen to track 2 of FSM`s "Prince Vailant" where Waxman "introduces a mysterious theme for trumpets and horns which will come to be associated with the plight of King Aguar" (FSM liner notes). That theme is IDENTICAL (!) to the first part of Goldsmith`s main theme of "The Shadow".

So are you saying that Goldsmith pulled a "Horner"? It is just 6 notes, not a complete passage! Don't get your panties in a bunch! How much music had Goldsmith composed or even listened to before he passed. Some stuff will sound the same. I am just amazed that composers can compose so much new stuff, well excluding Zimmer/Remote Control and Horner.

I wasn't saying it was the worst thing in the world, but yeah---the first notes are exactly the same. The "bendy" part he adds to it is great.

Yes! After much worry about my order, it just arrived in the mail.

I am truly SO excited to have this expanded. It's easily been one of my Top 10 most wanted expansions for years now. Thank you so much, Intrada. Can't wait to give it a spin.

I haven't read any of the posts on this thread, and I did not want to start a duplicate thread. I just wanted to say that tonight I listened to cd 1 and half of cd 2 of the new Intrada The Shadow release. This is an outstanding score. I love it. I love Jerry Goldsmith's music and I am very thankful that we can buy these releases.
Do yourself a favor and buy it. It's great. . .

I'm waiting until next Tuesday to order (along with Two Days in the Valley). Keep those Goldsmith scores coming please.

Kevin - your double dip order of Goldsmith should be full of bliss - I had the same order and I'm extremely happy with them. What's not to be happy about? We're talking Jerry G.!

Been listening to this a lot. Looking at the track list, I'd been curious if some small pieces were left off (since it's not exactly called "Complete"). But as I listened to it, I was pleased to find they were there. Some of the tracks contain a few different pieces but are only named after one particular scene, so for example I thought the music from the taxi driver's death scene and Lamont's "face peeling" dream would be missing.

A few cross fades bug me, particularly in "Fight Like A Man," where the transition from Claymore's death to the Shadow entering the ballroom is a little jarring. But otherwise it's great to have all this unreleased music. Definitely a dream come true to own this release.

Got mine in the mail today! As for the above remarks about it being complete or not, the CD does say complete on the back... but we all know complete is never enough for most people...

Why this continues to be such an issue for them is beyond me.

I know. The music underscoring Claymore's death clearly has it's own ending that fades out in the film, but on the disc the ending is clipped off in the process of crossfading to the next cue. I mean, at the end of the day it's not a big issue for me, because what matters most is that this unreleased music is now available. It's just a nitpick. If two tracks must be combined, I'd prefer to have just a second's silence between the first cue ending naturally and the next starting.

Where, in the track order, do the bonus and source tracks fall?

Been spinning this nonstop the past few days. Just a wonderful score and a magnificent presentation all around by Intrada.

Fantastic release. Thank you Intrada. What a masterpiece compared to today`s super hero scores by Zimmer.
