Hello Scott, question for you, do scan only front covers of your albums or the full booklet, back, tray card and actual CD as well?

I'm asking because that's what I do...

Just the front.

I could scan it all but then my anal-retentive nature might kick in forcing me to spend a week on editing just one album.

If I really want to read liner notes, etc I'll just pull the cd out of storage.

BTW, most of the covers I'm posting right now are not scans.

For example, in the last batch, only the Poledouris and the Decamerone covers are my own scans.

There is just no way anyone can scan a cover and get it to look as good as the digital source. It's too bad labels can not or will not provide a 1500 x 1500 original cover.

Yes, indeed, I would gladly pay extra money to have the full digital artwork of an album, along with the cd. Would look great and no or little work involved.

Scanning from small size cd booklets always brings out all sorts of imperfections which are quite time consuming trying to fix. And it's just frustrating having to do all this, knowing the pristine digital file version is sitting in the label's computer...

I'm just doing all this so I can have the full digital album experience (music and booklet) without the physical object which I cannot make readily available due to lack of storage...

... and I hate finger prints! which somehow often end up on my booklets, in particular the ones with black background and glossy print.

Now with the iPad, connected to my home network, I can access any booklet of any album and read it from anywhere in the house, while controlling the music and where it's playing in the house (via "Remote" and "Air Play")... Really cool smile

I might be able to supply you with scans of the backtrays of the first five CDs (Walkabout, Avalon, Dreams, Shadow Dancing and Z'ha'dum) later this year.

CK

Great. Let me know whenever you have those scans ready. I'm not in a hurry. I have plenty of other covers to work on in the meantime. wink

Here's more...

All these are from Zeefritz's archive. I am working on a huge batch of Italian soundtracks that will take a while.

I will do Star Trek II sooner than later. smile

I'm working on a huge batch of Italian soundtracks at the moment and when I'm done, I'll start on that one.

Scott, absolutely loving the work you're doing! Just received my copy of LA-LA's The Robe last week and can't seem to find scans for it on album art exchange or anywhere else for that matter....just wondering if this one's in the works...again thanks for helping to make my iTunes library look amazing!

Thanks! I might do The Robe. I have it laying around here somewhere.

In the meantime I hope you all enjoy this batch of Italian soundtrack scans...

The Digitmovies peplum series of titles are conspicuously absent, unfortunately. I'd like to see those.

Absent because I do not own many peplum scores. I'll do the few that I do have eventually.

Slim pickings for me, the last couple of batches, I'm afraid, Scott - I don't have many Italian discs, and not many Morricone discs!

I wonder if you have the covers for the MGM Soundtrack Treasury set?

I'll put that far down on my to do list as I am not expecting good results given the image quality of some of the covers in the booklet. I most cases I just use already existing images of the LP's from other sources.

Here's my next batch...

I'd love an alternate cover for Jerry Goldsmith's "Seconds" without the embarrassing drivel that it was paired with. What are the chances?

That's too bad, but I understand your reasons.

Thanks for the latest batch which is, to say the least, eclectic!

You're probably better off asking in one of the Custom Covers threads.

Hey Scott,
Been awhile since we heard from ya, just curious if you've taken a well deserved break or just not doing the updates as often. Really enjoyed seeing the big updates posted.

Sorry for getting everyone excited by bumping the thread...
