Actually, the fact is when there is more then one , I try to equal it out with the hours, but some get 7 or 8 hours in the middle of the night [western world] others daytime. Plus can't fit 2 names on the thread title, unless I remove what the thread is about, happy birthday film composers.

JURGEN KNIEPER was born on MARCH 15 , 1941 in KARLSRUHE GERMANY-Jurgen has been scoring films in West Germany since the early 70's. Over 60 of them. His better known ones were- THE AMERICAN FRIEND,CHRISTINE F, WINGS OF DESIRE ETC. He is currently 73 years old and has slow down in the past few years in his career.

TSUTOMU YAMASHITA was born on MARCH 15, 1947 in KYOTO, JAPAN.A modern percussionist who helped pioneer world music, Tsumotu has composed music for numerous Japanese films over the years. PHASE IV, THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH, THE TEMPEST, are his better known efforts. He is currently 67 years old.

JOHN ADDISON was born on, MARCH 16, 1920 in WEST CHOBHAM, SURREY, ENGLAND.John scored over 80 films from the 50's into the early 90's.Some of his better known efforts included-A TASTE OF HONEY, TOM JONES, AMOROUS ADVENTURES OF MOLL FLANDERS, TORN CURTAIN, CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE,SWASHBUCKLER, 7 PERECENT SOLUTION,A BRIDGE TOO FAR, CENTENNIAL[TV] PHANTOM OF THE OPERA[TV] ETC ETC.He died on DECEMBER 7, 1998 at the age of 78.

ALFRED NEWMAN was born on MARCH 17, 1900 in NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT[small state near NEW YORK]. ALFRED was one of the first prime movers of film music, starting in the 30's and composing for films till 1970. He composed music for over 200 films, these were the films he was up for nominations -PRISONER OF ZENDA,THE HURRICANE,THE COWBOY AND THE LADY,WUTHERING HEIGHTS,THE RAINS CAME,THEY SHALL HAVE MUSIC,HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME,MARK OF ZORRO,BALL OF FIRE,HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY,WILSON, THE BLACK SWAN,KEYS OF THE KINGDOM,STATE FAIR[ADAPTION] CENTENNIAL SUMMER,CAPTAIN FROM CASTILE,THE SNAKE PIT,ALL ABOUT EVE,DAVID AND BATHSHEBA,ON THE RIVERIA, ANASTASIA,DIARY OF ANNE FRANK,HOW THE WEST WAS WON, GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD, AIRPORT--these are the films he won for-ALEXANDER RAGTIME BAND[ADAPTION]SONG OF BERNADETTE,MOTHER WORE TIGHTS,WITH A SONG IN MY HEART,CALL ME MADAM. Alfred left this world on a high note with AIRPORT, He died on FEBRUARY 17, 1970 at the age of 69.But his influence on film music and the mark he has left will always be a part of the history of the art of film music.

Actually born in 1900 per Fred Steiner. The 1901 date persists in many secondary sources, but note how your penultimate sentence actually supports the 1900 date.

Some of my faves from Alfred-DODSWORTH,WUTHERING HEIGHTS[one of the best]GRAPES OF WRATH,SONG OF BERNADETTE,THE RAZOR'S EDGE,CAPTAIN FROM CASTILE,THE ROBE[One of the greats]THE EGYPTIAN, A MAN CALLED PETER, [Another great one] ANASTASIA,HOWTHE WEST WAS WON,THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD, NEVADA SMITH ETC .

WILLIAM LAVA was born on MARCH 18, 1911 in MINNESOTA, From the 30's into the late 60's he scored over 50 films. They included Universal genre films from the 40's like HOUSE OF DRACULA, INVISIBLE MAN'S REVENGE ETC, Films out of the 50's like REVENGE OF THE CREATURE, THE DEADLY MANTIS ETC. Some other films he scored included THE LITTLEST OUTLAW, BREAKTHROUGH, CHAMBER OF HORRORS, GOOD GUYS AND THE BAD GUYS ETC ETC. Willam passed on FEBRUARY 20, 1971 at 60.

JEAN WIENER was born on MARCH 19, 1896 in PARIS FRANCE, From the 1930;s through the 70's he was to score nearly a hundred films in the French cinema. A good chunk of those efforts in the later decades were for French TV. He died on JUNE 8, 1982 at the age of 86.

JOHN CAMERON was born on MARCH 20, 1944 in WOODFORD, ESSEX, ENGLAND.He has scored over 40 films since the late 60's, they include- KES,THE RULING CLASS,A TOUCH OF CLASS,I WILL I WILL FOR NOW, SUNBURN,THE MIRRORED CRACKED,JIGSAW MAN,JEKYLL, HYDE[TV] FRANKENSTEIN[TV] ETC ETC. In the past few years John has slowed down with his composing career. He is currently 70 years old
