We should all be very glad for any delays relating to James's primary job because they mean he has more money to put towards future Tadlow recordings he'd like to do...Maurice Jarre's Jesus of Nazareth, Jerome Moross's The War Lord, and much more... Yavar

Cody, I wasn't saying "Yay, Duel in the Sun is delayed!" I was simply pointing out that without James's main job we wouldn't be getting it or any other future Tadlow releases! I hope you have many more years left to listen to great Golden Age music. Yavar

Is Macarthur still getting the Tadlow treatment? I don't believe James was ever planning to give MacArthur a complete recording, but a ssuite from it will be included on the 2nd disc with the upcoming complete The Blue Max recording. There will also be suites from Inchon, The Chairman, and I think Patton as mentioned in the thread title. Not sure if there will be any other scores represented by suites, or whether any of the suites will feature previously-unreleased music (since The Chairman and MacArthur both have music not included on their existing albums). I wonder if we will get an announcement and track list for this awesome set? I have been looking forward to this thing for over two years now ... -Rick O. James said that after his trip to South America he will probably get down to set the release date for THE BLUE MAX. So expect.it in late October or early November. Sorry for the delay with the release but the label is my part time job....so it will be ready when it is ready as (fortunately) so busy with my full time job of contracting and producing orchestras for new CD, video games, film and TV for other labels and composers. While I am away in Peru we are actually recording 2 albums, 2 comercials, 2 TV show4 and 1 film (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2) under my supervision.....so a full schedule for the rest of the year!!! James, based on your above comment are we to assume that there is no room for DUEL IN THE SUN to be recorded this year or has it been canceled entirely. Yavar is a very young man who has all the time in the world and besides DUEL IN THE SUN may not have as much influence on his wish list as it has on mine and PFK'S. Thumbs up or thumbs down; either way I hope you respond. Did I say Duel in the Sun is delayed? I think not. As this is not for Tadlow Music but another label it comes under my proper job! Looking forward so much to Duel in the Sun, whenever. Thanks James for all the wonderful recordings. Thanks for the excellent news James concerning DUEL IN THE SUN. It's a great Dimitri Tiomkin score to be sure. In 1971 I found the 78 rpm set on RCA conducted by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops. I figured that would be it. Now, 44 years later, a new recording in fantastic sound quality. I know Niall and Cody are excited too, hopefully a few thousand others too. Thanks again James for all of your great efforts to bring the Golden Age and Silver Age scores back to life.

I'm glad for you! not a big Tiomkin fan myself but based on The Alamo and Fall of the Roman Empire I'm sure I'll be picking this up. Now if only Alfred Newman was popular enough for a new recording treatment... Yavar
