They could have put in all on one mega-isolinear-whatever disk but that technology doesn't exist yet.

10000 copies too. Shame the spine doesn't match wink

Well, if it sells out, next year Intrada can rerelease it with matching artwork.

Awesome news. I may just buy this.

Does anyone see anywhere any indication if this set will contain those few minutes of "film score history"?

It won't. James Nelson didn't do the transfer .

Looks like the stunning set this score deserves.

Thank you so much for this. Will be ordered as soon as humanly possible.

Thank God Inside Star Trek was excluded, relegated to dim memory, as I expected. This is gonna be fricking sweet.

Great, La-La Land. Thanks for making me wait 33 years for this! Why couldn't you have released it back in 1979, when your staff might not have even been born yet and CDs didn't exist?

In all seriousness, WOW!!!! When the Apocalypse is nigh, I will remember the 21st century as the century of dream-come-true, Holy Grail soundtrack releases.

Thank you so much, LLL.

I expected it was coming but I'm still stunned speechless. (Good thing I'm writing.) I have been saving for this since Christmas.

So one limited release out (STV) and one back in (TMP). I hope 10,000 doesn't go TOO fast.

Heh, yeah it does look like disc 2 starts with V'ger Speaks, The Meld / A Good Start, End Titles.

I just hope it has the original film version of the main titles (it looks like that might be track 2 on disc 3). The Courage theme looks to be tracks 9 and 12? It looks like this really will make both of my other CDs redundant.

Huzzah!

Jizzed my pants

I wouldn't have put it that way, but I second that emotion.

Glorious. Spectacular. Can't wait.

Anyone who's obsessed with "spines" better just move along...

Without getting specific, this kinda slam-dunks a lot of other stuff that showed up this week.

One of my main regrets in not being able to attend the LA event is missing out on a chance to meet Bruce Botnick, whose work I've greatly admired going way back to the Doors albums in the late 60s. That was long before I even knew he had an association with Jerry Goldsmith. He sort of ties together all of my musical favorites. So great that he's still with us and doing his thing!

Mmmmm that's the ONLY downside I can see with this presentation. Switching CDs to get to the last 10 minutes of the score is a bit... silly. But it's done so....

(Presumably breaking the score more sensibly would have required a 4th disc)

It's nice, and I'm sure many people will enjoy this CD. But I'm happy sticking with the 40 minutes on my CBS album, which I believe is a superior presentation of this music. I don't need the extra tracks. Pass.

wink
